Proposal for Udhampur as Air Flight Stopover Gains Momentum

Proposal for Udhampur as Air Flight Stopover Gains Momentum
Udhampur, March 20: A significant proposal has been put forward to include Udhampur as a stopover for the newly introduced Air India Express flight operating between Hindon (Ghaziabad) and Jammu.

Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister and Member of Parliament from Udhampur, shared that efforts are underway to secure the necessary approvals for this initiative. However, since Udhampur, like Jammu, has an Air Force-managed airport, several regulatory and logistical challenges need to be addressed.

Despite these hurdles, the proposal aims to introduce at least periodic commercial flight landings in Udhampur, if not on a daily basis. Dr. Singh expressed optimism, stating that consistent follow-ups may yield positive results, ultimately improving air connectivity for the region.

This development, if approved, would significantly benefit residents and travelers by enhancing accessibility and boosting regional economic prospects.
