Notorious Drug Peddler Booked Under PIT-NDPS Act in Jammu, Lodged in Rajouri Jail
Jammu, March 24, 2025: In a major crackdown against drug peddling, Jammu Police have booked a notorious drug smuggler under the stringent PIT-NDPS Act and lodged him in District Jail Rajouri.

The accused, Abdul Hamid alias Medhu, son of Late Abdul Rashid, a resident of Dalwas, Chanderkot, Ramban, presently residing at Javed Nagar, Nikki Tawi, Jammu (Age 34 years), was booked after obtaining formal detention orders from the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu.

Hamid has a long history of criminal activities, with multiple FIRs registered against him, including:

FIR No. 75/2021 (U/S 279, 337, 304A IPC) at P/S Bagh-e-Bahu

FIR No. 08/2021 (U/S 188 IPC & 3 PCA Act) at P/S Satwari

FIR No. 01/2023 (U/S 341, 323, 504, 506, 34 IPC) at P/S Nowabad

FIR No. 53/2024 (U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act) at P/S Domana

FIR No. 194/2024 (U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act) at P/S Nowabad


Despite previous arrests, he continued his involvement in drug trafficking, targeting local youth for monetary gains. He had also managed to secure bail multiple times from the courts. To prevent him from continuing his illicit activities, a dossier was prepared, leading to the issuance of a PIT-NDPS warrant.

The operation was carried out by a team from Police Station Nowabad, under the supervision of the SHO, SDPO City West Jammu, and SP City North Jammu.
