J&K Budget 2025: Major Boost for Youth with Training, Jobs, and Entrepreneurship

Jammu & Kashmir’s Budget 2025 brings a strong focus on youth empowerment, skill development, and entrepreneurship. The government has announced a series of initiatives to enhance employability and support startups, ensuring sustainable livelihoods for the youth.

Skill Development & Training

Under the budget, 1 lakh youth will receive training through PMKVY 4.0, PM Vishwakarma, and other schemes. The government has also decided to revive the Udaan Scheme, aimed at providing job placements to young professionals. Additionally, 83 ITI trade units are being upgraded to meet NCVT standards, ensuring quality technical education. Over 3,000 women in Self-Help Groups (SHGs) will be upskilled to improve their employment prospects.

Entrepreneurship & Employment Generation

A significant push has been given to startups and business ventures through Mission YUVA, which aims to create 1.37 lakh enterprises and generate 4.25 lakh jobs over the next five years. Job fairs will be organized in Jammu and Srinagar to connect job seekers with potential employers. The government will also provide credit support, ONDC integration, and AI-based skill training to budding entrepreneurs, with a special focus on first-generation entrepreneurs, women, and youth.

These initiatives reflect the government's commitment to equipping the youth with essential skills and creating ample job opportunities, paving the way for a more prosperous Jammu & Kashmir.
