Jammu, March 25, 2025: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Jammu Police have arrested a husband-wife duo and seized a significant quantity of heroin-like substance. The operation was carried out by Police Station Gangyal under the leadership of SHO Inspector Satvir Singh, with oversight from SDPO City South and SP City South Jammu.
The arrests took place at Purmandal Morh during routine checking, where the police intercepted the suspects traveling on a Scooty (JK02CJ-7841) from Baribrahmana to Kunjwani. Upon inspection, approximately 15-16 grams of heroin-like substance were recovered from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Jaspal Singh alias Deep Nagra, son of Daler Singh, and his wife Kajal Rajput, both residents of Old Satwari, Jammu. A case has been registered under FIR No. 39/2025, invoking sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act. Investigations are ongoing to trace their supply chain and uncover any connections with larger drug networks.
Jammu Police have reaffirmed their commitment to fighting drug trafficking and ensuring community safety. Authorities urge the public to report any suspicious activities related to drug peddling to assist in their efforts to eliminate the drug menace from society.
