Five-Day Training Programme on New Criminal Laws Concludes at DPL Kathua
Kathua, March 4: The Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kathua successfully concluded a five-day training programme on new criminal laws at the Conference Hall, District Police Lines (DPL) Kathua. The crash course, which commenced on February 28, 2025, aimed to familiarize police officers and officials with the recently introduced legal framework.

A total of 77 officers and officials from Kathua Police, Traffic Police, and CID participated in the training. Master trainers from J&K Police Kathua conducted sessions on the three new laws: Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), which have replaced the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), and Indian Evidence Act, respectively.

During the training, special lectures were delivered by Gazetted Police Officers and the Senior Prosecuting Officer from the District Police Office (DPO) Kathua. The programme was coordinated by DySP Headquarters Kathua, Sh. Ravinder Singh (Nodal Officer), under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, Sh. Shobhit Saksena, IPS.

This initiative marks a significant step in equipping police personnel with knowledge of the new criminal laws, ensuring their effective implementation in law enforcement.
