Congress Holds Protest March in Jammu, Demands Early Restoration of Statehood
Jammu, March 25: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Chief, Shri Tariq Hameed Karra, along with AICC General Secretary and CLP leader G.A. Mir, led a massive protest march in Jammu on Monday. The march, part of the party’s ongoing campaign "Hamari Riyasat, Hamara Haq," saw the participation of hundreds of Congress leaders and activists.

The protest, which commenced from the Talab Tilloo area, also witnessed the presence of JKPCC Working Presidents Tara Chand and Raman Bhalla, among other senior Congress leaders. The party leaders reiterated their demand for the immediate restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood, emphasizing that it was the fundamental right of the people.

Speaking at the protest, JKPCC Chief Tariq Hameed Karra stated, "The people of Jammu and Kashmir have been deprived of their democratic rights for too long. The restoration of statehood is not just a political demand but a matter of justice and dignity."

The Congress leaders accused the BJP-led central government of delaying the process, which they claim has resulted in administrative inefficiencies and a disconnect between the people and the governance structure. CLP leader G.A. Mir reaffirmed that the Congress would continue to press for the cause until statehood is fully restored.

The protest march, amid slogans in support of Jammu and Kashmir’s rights, marked a significant moment in the party's broader movement advocating for the region’s political and democratic restoration.
