Budgam Police Arrest Two Drug Peddlers, Seize Contraband Substances
Budgam, March 28, 2025: Continuing its crackdown on drug-related activities, Budgam Police arrested two drug peddlers in the Charar-I-Sharief area and seized contraband substances from their possession.

A police team from Police Station Charar-I-Sharief, led by ASI Riyaz Ahmad, set up a checkpoint near Sports Stadium Charar-I-Sharief. During the routine inspection, they intercepted a load carrier (JK01AS-9968). Upon searching the vehicle, the police recovered heroin-like substances wrapped in two separate paper rolls, weighing approximately 12 grams.

The two individuals traveling in the vehicle were immediately arrested. They were later identified as:

Imran Ahmad Qasba, son of Nazir Ahmad Qasba, a resident of Mehjoor Nagar, Srinagar.

Imran Ahmad Shah, son of Ghulam Mohammad Shah, a resident of Mangan Wachi Kanipora, Srinagar.


The police also seized the vehicle used in the crime.

A case has been registered at Police Station Charar-I-Sharief under FIR No. 15/2025 under Sections 8/22 of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway.

Budgam Police reiterated its commitment to eradicating drug trafficking and urged citizens to cooperate by reporting any suspicious activities.
