Samba, February 27: In a determined effort to combat substance abuse, Deputy Commissioner Samba, Rajesh Sharma, led a major Anti-Drug IEC Campaign today at Naran Panchayat. The event witnessed active participation from SDM Ghagwal Sunaina Saini, Tehsildar Ghagwal, BDO Ghagwal, public representatives, and officials from the medical and education sectors.
Addressing the gathering, DC Sharma emphasized the crucial role of education, healthcare, and community involvement in preventing drug abuse. He directed schools to integrate drug prevention initiatives into their curriculum and urged parents and teachers to remain vigilant in identifying early signs of addiction. Medical experts at the event highlighted the physical and psychological consequences of substance abuse, stressing the importance of early intervention and counseling.
To steer youth away from negative influences, DC Samba advocated for greater participation in sports, cultural activities, and skill development programs. He also called for a collective approach involving the administration, law enforcement agencies, and civil society to make Samba a drug-free district.
With a strong commitment to eradicating drug abuse, the campaign reinforced the message of awareness, prevention, and community engagement.
