Two Criminals Arrested Within 24 Hours; Sharp-Edged Weapon Recovered by RS Pura Police
Jammu, February 12, 2025: In a swift action, RS Pura Police successfully arrested two accused involved in a violent assault and recovered the weapon of offence within 24 hours of the complaint.

According to reports, on February 11, 2025, an individual named Siddiq, son of Mohd Ashraf, a resident of Tanda, RS Pura, lodged a written complaint stating that on February 7, 2025, at around 7:00 PM, his younger brother, Mohd Saleem, was standing opposite Deedar Medical Shop on the roadside at Tanda when he was wrongfully restrained and brutally attacked with sharp-edged weapons. The accused have been identified as:

1. Dheeraj Kumar alias Jatt, son of Janak Raj, resident of Chohala Kothey, RS Pura


2. Shibu Kumar, son of Garu Ram, resident of Chohala Kothey, RS Pura, along with some unidentified persons.



The victim suffered serious injuries and was immediately shifted to GMC Hospital for treatment. Acting upon the complaint, RS Pura Police registered a case under FIR No. 26/2025 U/S 126(2)/115(2) BNS & 4/25 Arms Act and launched an investigation.

A special police team, under the supervision of SHO RS Pura Sh. Ravi Singh Parihar, swiftly acted on intelligence inputs and technical surveillance, successfully apprehending both accused. During interrogation, the duo confessed to their involvement in the crime, leading to the recovery of the sharp-edged weapon used in the attack.

The police are continuing their investigation to identify and arrest any other individuals involved in the incident. The swift action by RS Pura Police has been widely appreciated, reinforcing their commitment to maintaining law and order in the region.
