Samba Police Recover Ammunition and Explosives from Chilla Danga Forest
Samba, February 18: In a major breakthrough, Samba Police recovered ammunition and explosive substances from the Chilla Danga forest area, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba.

Acting on specific intelligence, a police team led by DySP Headquarters Samba, along with SHO PS Samba and I/C BPP Chilla Danga, launched a search operation in the Kawala forest area of Chilla Danga. During the operation, security forces discovered a hidden cache of ammunition and explosives concealed beneath a tree cavity and rocks. The recovered items include:

29 live rounds

One AK rifle magazine

Explosive powder

Authorities believe that unknown anti-national elements had illegally stored these materials, possibly intending to carry out terrorist activities and cause harm to life and property. The timely recovery of these items has thwarted their plans, averting a potential major security threat.

A case has been registered under FIR No. 54/2025 at Police Station Samba under sections 13/16/23 UA(P) Act, 7/25 Indian Arms Act, and 4/25 Explosive Substances Act. Further investigations are underway to identify those responsible.
