Samba, February 03: In a continued crackdown on drug smuggling and peddling, Samba Police arrested a drug peddler in the jurisdiction of Police Station Vijaypur and recovered approximately 4.76 grams of heroin-like substance from his possession.
Acting on specific inputs, a police team led by SHO PS Vijaypur set up a special naka at Rahya Morh, Vijaypur. During the operation, they intercepted a pedestrian on suspicious grounds. Upon thorough checking, a substance resembling heroin, weighing around 4.76 grams, was recovered from his possession.
The accused, identified as Shubham Dogra, son of Ramel Singh, resident of Bhuddi, Dehradun (Uttarakhand), was immediately taken into custody, and the contraband was seized.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 16/2025 U/S 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Vijaypur, and further investigation is underway.
