Samba Police Arrests Drug Peddler, Recovers 4.76 Grams of Heroin-Like Substance
Samba, February 03: In a continued effort to curb drug smuggling and peddling, Samba Police achieved a significant breakthrough by apprehending a drug peddler and seizing a heroin-like substance from his possession.

Acting on intelligence inputs and as part of a special drive against narcotics, a police team from Police Station Vijaypur, under the supervision of SHO PS Vijaypur, set up a special naka (checkpoint) at Rahya Morh, Vijaypur. During the operation, the police intercepted a suspicious pedestrian and subjected him to a thorough check. Upon searching, approximately 4.76 grams of heroin-like substance (commonly known as chitta) was recovered from his possession.

The accused has been identified as Shubham Dogra, son of Ramel Singh, a resident of Bhuddi, Dehradun (Uttarakhand). He was immediately taken into custody, and the contraband was seized on the spot as per legal procedures.

Following the recovery, a case FIR No. 16/2025 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Vijaypur. The investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the narcotics and whether the accused is linked to any larger drug network.

Samba Police has reaffirmed its commitment to making the district drug-free and has urged the general public to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling or smuggling activities. Law enforcement agencies have intensified their efforts to crack down on drug-related crimes, ensuring strict action against offenders.
