Poonch, February 6, 2025 – In a significant achievement, the Cyber Cell of Poonch Police has successfully recovered 50 lost mobile phones, collectively valued at approximately ₹8 lakhs, and returned them to their rightful owners.
Responding to multiple complaints regarding missing mobile devices, the Cyber Cell undertook extensive efforts to trace and retrieve the phones. Upon receiving their lost mobiles, the owners expressed their happiness and gratitude towards the Poonch Police for their dedication and hard work.
Speaking on the occasion, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Poonch, Sh. Shafket Hussain, stressed the importance of securing mobile devices, given the sensitive information they often store. He warned about the potential risks of misuse and urged the public to handle their devices with utmost care to avoid such incidents.
The SSP further appealed to citizens to remain vigilant and report any lost or stolen mobile phones immediately. He encouraged them to utilize the National Cyber Helpline 1930, lodge cyber complaints online at www.cybercrime.gov.in, and report lost or stolen mobiles through www.ceir.gov.in.
The initiative by Poonch Police highlights their commitment to public service and cyber safety, ensuring that technological resources are used responsibly and securely.
