Jammu, February 6, 2025 – In a significant breakthrough, Jammu Police have successfully solved four major theft cases, arresting multiple accused and recovering stolen property worth ₹12 lakh. The swift and meticulous investigations have strengthened public confidence in law enforcement.
Telecom Equipment Theft Case Solved
In the first case, police cracked a telecom equipment theft incident at an Indus Towers Ltd. site in Chak Jaffer, Jammu. Acting swiftly, officers arrested Mohd Arif Raina and Uttam Kumar under FIR No. 176/2024 U/S 303(2) BNS of PS Kanachak. The stolen telecom equipment, including an RRU, was recovered from Gharota. Investigations have revealed that this gang is involved in multiple telecom thefts across Jammu district, and further recoveries are expected. Uttam Kumar is a professional thief previously involved in a similar case in Gujarat.
Jewellery Theft Worth ₹7 Lakh Solved
In another major success, police solved a jewellery theft case in Mishriwala, where a 13-year-old minor and his two associates stole nearly 10 tolas of gold ornaments worth ₹7 lakh. The stolen jewellery was sold to a goldsmith in Deheran Khour. Police successfully recovered cash amounting to ₹6 lakh and a golden Tikka from the goldsmith and the juveniles. The three juveniles were taken into protective custody, while the goldsmith was arrested under FIR No. 13/2025 U/S 303(2) BNS of PS Kanachak. This operation marks a major step in tackling organized theft crimes.
Swift Recovery of Stolen Calf in Purkhoo
In a unique case, police acted swiftly to recover a stolen cow’s calf in Purkhoo following a complaint by Anita Sharma. Officers arrested Rohit Kumar and Shamsher Singh alias Pippy under FIR No. 26/2025 U/S 303(2) BNS of PS Kanachak. The stolen calf was safely returned to its rightful owner.
Cattle Lifting Gang Busted in Akhnoor
A notorious cattle lifting gang active in the Akhnoor and Gharota areas was busted, leading to the arrest of two accused. Police recovered one buffalo and a horse based on their disclosure. Further recoveries are expected as investigations continue.
