Jammu, February 8, 2025: In a major breakthrough under Operation Sanjeevani, Jammu Police arrested a drug peddler and seized 13 kg of poppy straw in the Manwal area of District Jammu.
During a routine naka checking at Manwal, a police team from Police Post Manwal intercepted a truck bearing registration number RJ19GF/7903, which was coming from Udhampur towards Mansar. The driver attempted to evade the checkpoint but was swiftly apprehended by the police. Upon searching the vehicle, the police recovered 13 kg of poppy straw (Bhukki-like substance) from his possession.
The accused has been identified as Vicky Kumar, son of Jeet Kumar, resident of Atthara, Tehsil Nurpur, District Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. Following the recovery, a case has been registered under FIR No. 21/2025, U/S 8/15/60 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli.
