Samba, Feb 20: Deputy Commissioner Samba, Rajesh Sharma, chaired a District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) meeting on the National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) today at the DC Complex, Samba.
The meeting focused on the strict enforcement of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA), 2003, emphasizing the need for widespread awareness campaigns and stronger inter-departmental coordination to enhance the programme's effectiveness.
Officials discussed the implementation of regular monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to track progress and address emerging challenges. The discussions reinforced a collaborative approach, ensuring proactive measures to curb tobacco use and promote public health awareness in Samba district.
Senior officials from various departments attended the meeting and pledged their support in making the district tobacco-free.
