Budgam, February 27, 2025: In a bid to strengthen public outreach and address community concerns, Budgam Police, under the supervision of SSP Budgam, Shri Nikhil Borkar (IPS), organized "Thana Diwas" across multiple police stations and posts in the district. The event was conducted at Police Stations Khag, Beerwah, Khansahib, and Police Posts Soibugh, Pakherpora, and Narbal.
Presided over by concerned field officers, the events saw active participation from prominent citizens, members of the traders’ federation, and other key stakeholders, alongside police personnel.
A major focus of "Thana Diwas" was spreading awareness about new criminal laws, including provisions for speedy justice for victims, swift punishment for offenders, community service punishments, and the process of registering Zero-FIR and e-FIR.
During the interaction, participants highlighted various public concerns, including social crimes, policing challenges, and administrative issues. Jurisdictional police officers patiently heard the grievances and assured that police-related matters would be forwarded to higher authorities for prompt redressal.
Police officers, while addressing the gatherings, emphasized the need for strengthening police-public relations. They urged the community to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in combating crime and eradicating social evils from society.
The initiative reflects the commitment of Budgam Police to ensuring a safer and more connected community.
