The much-anticipated 8th Pay Commission is expected to be implemented in 2028, bringing significant financial benefits to government employees across India, including those in Jammu and Kashmir. With a projected basic pay multiplication factor of 2.57, employees can expect a substantial hike in their salaries.
Expected Salary Calculation Example
For an estimated basic pay of ₹25,000, ₹35,900, and ₹41,100, the revised salaries would be calculated as follows:
1. Basic Pay Revision
₹25,000 × 2.57 = ₹64,250
₹35,900 × 2.57 = ₹92,263
₹41,100 × 2.57 = ₹105,627
2. Dearness Allowance (DA) @ 50%
₹64,250 × 50% = ₹32,125
₹92,263 × 50% = ₹46,131
₹105,627 × 50% = ₹52,814
3. House Rent Allowance (HRA) @ 9%
₹64,250 × 9% = ₹5,783
₹92,263 × 9% = ₹8,304
₹105,627 × 9% = ₹9,506
4. Medical Allowance (MA)
Fixed at ₹300 for all employees
5. Transport Allowance (TA)
As per existing rules and regulations
Expected Total Salary (Excluding TA & Other Allowances)
The 8th Pay Commission will significantly enhance the salaries of government employees, ensuring better financial stability and an improved standard of living. However, the final recommendations will depend on the government’s approval and further revisions.
