Udhampur, February 21, 2025: In a significant crackdown on illegal liquor trade, Udhampur Police apprehended a man with 60 bottles of illicit liquor during patrolling duty near Dubey Morh in Kud.
Acting on credible information, a police team led by Incharge Naka was conducting routine checks when they spotted a suspicious individual attempting to flee upon noticing the police presence. The alert officers swiftly chased and apprehended the suspect.
During the frisking, the police recovered a bag containing 60 bottles (250ml each) of illicit liquor. The accused has been identified as Kaka Ram, son of Khem Raj, a resident of Kultayar, Tehsil Panchari, District Udhampur, currently residing in Chenani.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 08/2025 U/S 48(a) of the Excise Act at Police Station Kud. Further investigation is underway.
