132 JJM Schemes Underway in Poonch District

Poonch, February 06: Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal and Mission Director JJM (J&K), Khursheed Ahmad Shah, reviewed the progress of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) schemes in Poonch district.

The review meeting focused on the organizational framework, ongoing civil works, and challenges in project implementation. The Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti, provided a detailed briefing, stating that 132 schemes are currently being developed in the district, with several projects already completed.

The Deputy Commissioner assessed the block-wise progress of the schemes and directed AEEs and JEs to resolve site-specific issues and accelerate work to meet the stipulated deadlines.

Mission Director Khursheed Ahmad Shah stressed the need to expedite ongoing projects and initiate pending ones, particularly in remote and urban areas, ensuring equitable access to clean water for all residents.

The meeting also covered updates on key components such as dug wells, pipe networks, ground service reservoirs (GSR), and pump rooms. The Mission Director urged engineers and officials to maintain quality and ensure timely completion under proper supervision.

The meeting was attended by Chief Engineer Jal Shakti, Vikas Sharma, SE Hydraulic Circle Poonch, SE PHE Mechanical Rural Jammu, Xen PHE, JEs, Xen Ground Water Division Jammu, concerned AEEs, and other officials.
