Udhampur Police Arrests Two Notorious Drug Peddlers, Including a Nursing Orderly, with 39.9 Grams of Heroin
In a significant breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking, Udhampur Police arrested two notorious drug peddlers during a routine vehicle checking at Rehambal naka point. The duo, caught red-handed with a substantial quantity of heroin, has been identified as:

1. Vikrant Sharma, son of Narinder Sharma, a resident of Chabutra Bazar, Udhampur. He is employed as a nursing orderly at GMC Udhampur.


2. Arjun Dubey, son of Bushan Dubey, a resident of Ward No. 12, Paba Gali, Udhampur. He works as a receptionist on a contractual basis in the medical department.



The arrests were made by a police team led by the SHO of Police Station Rehambal during routine vehicle inspections. The suspects, traveling on a motorcycle (bearing registration number JK14J-0690) from Jammu towards Udhampur, were stopped for checking.

During a detailed frisking of the rider and pillion, the police recovered 39.9 grams of heroin (commonly known as Chitta) from their possession.

A case has been registered at Police Station Rehambal under FIR No. 15/2025, invoking Sections 8, 21, and 22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Further investigations are underway to uncover the network involved in the drug trade and prevent such activities in the future.
