Three LeT/TRF Militant Associates Arrested in Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir
Kulgam: In a significant breakthrough against terrorism, the Jammu and Kashmir Police apprehended three militant associates linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT)/The Resistance Front (TRF) in the Qaimoh area of Kulgam district. The arrested individuals have been identified as Ubaid Khursheed Khanday, son of Khursheed Ahmad Khanday, Maqsood Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohd Ramzan Bhat, and Umer Bashir, son of Bashir Ahmad Dar, all residents of Thokerpora Qaimoh in Kulgam.
During the operation, a cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from their possession. The recovered items include:

2 AK-series rifles

8 AK-series magazines

217 AK-series rounds

5 hand grenades

2 magazine pouches


The police stated that the arrest and recovery were made following a well-coordinated operation based on credible intelligence inputs. The trio is believed to have been working as overground workers (OGWs) for the LeT/TRF, facilitating terror activities in the region.

According to officials, the seized weapons and ammunition indicate a plot to carry out subversive activities in the area. This operation highlights the ongoing efforts of the security forces to dismantle terror networks and prevent the proliferation of arms in the region.

The arrested individuals are currently under interrogation, and further investigations are underway to uncover their role in past terror activities and identify their connections with the terror network.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with other security agencies, reiterated their commitment to ensuring peace and stability in the region and have urged citizens to report any suspicious activities.
