In preparation for the 76th Republic Day celebrations, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Udhampur, Sh. Amod Ashok Nagpure, IPS, chaired a crucial Security and Multi-Agency Coordination (SMAC) meeting at the District Police Lines in Udhampur. The meeting witnessed the participation of senior officers from the Army, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and various intelligence agencies operating in the district.
The primary focus of the meeting was to evaluate the current security landscape and ensure seamless coordination among all security and intelligence agencies to mitigate potential threats and ensure the safety of the Republic Day events.
Addressing the officials, SSP Udhampur emphasized the importance of heightened vigilance and proactive measures in light of the upcoming national celebrations. He directed officers to increase patrolling and area domination, particularly around locations hosting Republic Day events. The SSP further stressed the need to maintain strict surveillance in sensitive areas and enhance security checks at vital installations, public places, and entry points across the district.
Recognizing the growing role of technology in maintaining security, SSP Udhampur called for rigorous monitoring of social media platforms to prevent the spread of misinformation or disruptive activities by anti-social elements. He urged all agencies to adopt a zero-tolerance approach towards any attempts to create disturbances.
The meeting also involved detailed discussions on contingency plans, intelligence-sharing mechanisms, and strategies to counter any potential threats.
