Samba, January 24: In a concerted effort to curb illegal mining activities, Samba Police has seized five vehicles, including four dumpers and one excavator, within the jurisdictions of Police Stations Samba and Ghagwal. The vehicles were reportedly being used for the illegal transportation and extraction of construction materials.
The police teams, led by the Incharge of Police Post Mansar, Incharge of Police Post Rakh Amb Talli (both under PS Samba), and Incharge of Police Post Rajpura (under PS Ghagwal), conducted extensive patrolling in their respective areas. During their operation, they intercepted and seized an unregistered excavator (JCB) and four dumpers bearing the registration numbers JK21K-2727, JK19A-5938, JK19A-0884, and JK21F-9145. These vehicles were allegedly involved in illegal mining activities in the region.
Following the seizure, the vehicles were handed over to the Geology and Mining Department, Samba, for further legal proceedings. This action demonstrates the commitment of Samba Police to tackling illegal mining, which poses a threat to the environment and violates legal norms.
The Samba Police have reiterated their resolve to continue their vigilance and warned individuals and groups engaging in illegal mining activities of strict legal consequences. Local authorities have urged citizens to report any such activities to ensure the protection of natural resources and compliance with the law.
