Jammu: In a significant initiative to enhance governance and legislative expertise, a three-day orientation program for Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) commenced at the Central Hall of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly. The event is being organized jointly by the state Legislative Assembly and the Parliamentary Research & Training Institute for Democracies (PRIDE) under the Lok Sabha Secretariat.
Prominent dignitaries, including Jammu and Kashmir National Conference leader Sakina Itoo, former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, and Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh, were present on the inaugural day. Their presence added gravitas to the occasion, which aims to empower state legislators with essential knowledge and skills for effective lawmaking and governance.
The program opened with a group photo featuring the participants, symbolizing unity and collective commitment to enhancing democratic practices.
