Samba, January 26, 2025: The 76th Republic Day was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm at the District Court Complex (Headquarter) in Samba, in accordance with the directions of the Hon’ble High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. The event took place today, marking a significant occasion in the legal and judicial calendar.
The program commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by Shri Ravinder Nath Wattal, the Worthy Principal District & Sessions Judge of Samba, who is also the Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Samba. This was followed by a heartfelt rendition of the National Anthem by the gathering.
In his address, Shri Ravinder Nath Wattal, the Chief Guest for the occasion, extended his greetings to the gathering and emphasized the importance of Republic Day. He highlighted the significance of the day in celebrating the Constitution of India and its role in upholding justice, equality, and liberty for all citizens.
The event witnessed a diverse gathering that included Mr. Umesh Sharma, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Samba; Mr. Sandeep Singh Sen, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority Samba; Ms. Himani Parihar, Munsiff Samba; Ms. Rashi Verma, Special Mobile Magistrate Samba; Ms. Cheena Sumbria, Principal Magistrate of the Juvenile Justice Board, Samba; Ms. Kritika Sethi, Additional Munsiff Samba; Prosecuting Officers of the District Court Complex Samba; Officers from the LADCs Samba; as well as the President of the Bar Association Samba, Shri Ajay Gupta, along with senior and young members of the Bar Association, panel lawyers, teachers, students from local schools, police personnel, and staff members from both the District Court and the District Legal Services Authority Samba. Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) of DLSA Samba also played an essential role in the event's success.
As part of the celebrations, various cultural programs were organized by the District Legal Services Authority Samba, in line with the directives of the Worthy Chairman. Students from various institutions, including Pareesha (Home for Girls), Junior Einsteins Modern School (Bari Brahmana), Palaash (Home for Boys), and Global Kids Playway (Sangalwali Samba), performed in line with the theme of the program. Their performances added a vibrant touch to the celebration, highlighting the spirit of unity and patriotism.
Following the cultural performances, a felicitation ceremony was held, where the Chief Guest distributed certificates to the students who showcased their talents, as well as to the staff and PLVs who contributed significantly to the event's success.
The proceedings of the event were conducted by Mr. Hitesh Sharma, Panel Advocate of DLSA Samba, and the overall supervision of the program was managed by Mr. Sandeep Singh Sen, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority Samba.
The Republic Day celebration at the District Court Complex Samba was not just a ceremonial occasion but a testament to the unity and patriotic spirit of the Samba district, reflecting the core values enshrined in the Indian Constitution.
