PM Modi to Inaugurate and Lay Foundation Stone of Multiple Development Projects in Delhi on January 3, 2025
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several key development projects in Delhi on January 3, 2025, reflecting his government’s commitment to urban transformation, housing for all, and eco-friendly infrastructure development.

Inauguration of Flats for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS)

At approximately 12:10 PM, the Prime Minister will visit Swabhiman Apartments in Ashok Vihar to inaugurate 1,675 newly constructed flats under the In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation Project. These flats are part of an initiative by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to provide a healthier living environment to residents of Jhuggi Jhopri (JJ) clusters. During the event, PM Modi will personally hand over keys to eligible beneficiaries.

The project aligns with the government's ‘Housing for All’ mission and ensures affordability for economically weaker sections. For each flat costing Rs 25 lakh, beneficiaries contribute just 7% of the total amount — Rs 1.42 lakh as a nominal contribution and Rs 30,000 for five years of maintenance. This marks the successful completion of the second In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation Project in Delhi.

Urban Redevelopment Projects

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate two major urban redevelopment projects:

1. World Trade Centre (WTC) at Nauroji Nagar
The WTC has transformed Nauroji Nagar by replacing over 600 old government quarters with cutting-edge commercial towers. It offers 34 lakh square feet of premium commercial space with modern amenities, adhering to green building practices. Features include a zero-discharge concept, solar energy systems, and rainwater harvesting.

2. GPRA Type-II Quarters at Sarojini Nagar
Comprising 28 towers with over 2,500 residential units, the GPRA project provides eco-conscious housing for government employees. The project includes rainwater harvesting systems, water and sewage treatment plants, and solar-powered waste compactors.

CBSE Integrated Office Complex in Dwarka

Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the CBSE’s Integrated Office Complex in Dwarka, constructed at a cost of Rs 300 crore. The eco-friendly building features state-of-the-art facilities, including advanced data centers, an auditorium, and a comprehensive water management system. Designed to meet Platinum Rating standards of the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), the building emphasizes sustainability.

Foundation Stones for Delhi University Projects

In a significant boost to educational infrastructure, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for three new projects worth over Rs 600 crore under Delhi University. These include:

1. An academic block at the Eastern Campus in Surajmal Vihar, East Delhi.

2. An academic block at the Western Campus in Dwarka.

3. Veer Savarkar College in Roshanpura, Najafgarh, which will feature state-of-the-art educational facilities.

A Vision for Inclusive Development

These projects showcase the government’s commitment to sustainable development and enhancing the quality of life in Delhi. By focusing on housing, eco-friendly urban infrastructure, and education, the initiatives aim to make Delhi a model of modern, inclusive urban living.

The Prime Minister’s visit will mark a significant milestone in Delhi’s developmental journey, blending modernization with inclusivity and environmental responsibility.
