Notorious Drug Peddler Arrested with Heroin in Tikri, Udhampur
Udhampur Police, in a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, arrested a notorious drug peddler in the Tikri area. The arrest was made during a routine vehicle check conducted by a team from Police Post Tikri, led by ICPP, at the Tikri naka point on the Jammu-Udhampur route.

During the operation, a Bolero vehicle with registration number JK14J-4983 was flagged down for inspection. Upon frisking the driver, the police recovered 7.45 grams of heroin (chitta), a contraband substance, from his possession.

The driver, identified as Mohd. Asif, son of Sanak Mohd., and a resident of Hartayan, Rehambal, Udhampur, was immediately taken into custody.

Following the recovery, a case under FIR No. 14/2025 was registered at Police Station Rehambal under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act. Further investigation into the matter is underway to uncover potential links to larger drug networks and suppliers.

This successful operation highlights the Udhampur Police's ongoing commitment to eradicating the menace of drug trafficking and ensuring the safety and security of the community. The police have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to aid in the fight against narcotics.
