National Voter's Day Pledge Ceremony Held at District Police Office Kathua
Kathua, 25 January 2025: On the occasion of National Voter's Day, observed on 25th January every year, a pledge ceremony was organized at the District Police Office (DPO) Kathua. Similar ceremonies were held at all police establishments and stations across the Kathua district. The primary ceremony at the DPO Kathua witnessed active participation from officers and officials of the police department.

The event was presided over by Additional Superintendent of Police (Addl. SP) Kathua, Sh. Rahul Charak (JKPS), who was accompanied by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Headquarters Kathua, Sh. Manjeet Singh (JKPS). Together, they led the officers and officials in taking the Voter's Pledge.

The Voter's Pledge emphasized the importance of upholding democratic values and conducting free and peaceful elections. It read:
"We, the citizens of India, having abiding faith in democracy, hereby pledge to uphold the democratic traditions of our country and the dignity of free and peaceful elections and to vote in every election fearlessly and without being influenced by considerations of religion, race, caste, community, language, or any inducement."

The pledge was taken with great enthusiasm and determination by all present.

This year, the theme for National Voter's Day was "Nothing like Voting, I vote for sure." In his address, Addl. SP Rahul Charak highlighted the significance of National Voter's Day, stating that its primary objective is to strengthen the democratic system by raising awareness among the youth and future voters about the importance of their vote.

He further urged participants to actively engage in promoting electoral awareness among the public, emphasizing the importance of their active involvement in the electoral process to strengthen democracy in the country. The ceremony concluded with a commitment to ensure greater participation in elections and the spread of democratic values.
