Mock Drill Conducted to Test Oxygen Generation Plants at Sub-District Hospital Bhaderwah
In a significant move to ensure emergency preparedness and strengthen healthcare infrastructure, a mock drill to test the operational efficiency of oxygen generation plants was successfully conducted at the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bhaderwah in Doda district. The drill was organized under the supervision of the Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM) Jammu & Kashmir, the Director of Health Services Jammu, and the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Doda.

Dr. Varsha Kotwal, the Incharge Block Medical Officer (BMO) Bhaderwah, spearheaded the initiative. The primary aim of the exercise was to evaluate the readiness of oxygen plants to deliver uninterrupted oxygen supply during critical emergencies.

The mock drill meticulously assessed various aspects, including the functional status of oxygen generation equipment, storage systems, and distribution pipelines. Healthcare staff were trained and briefed on handling emergencies, ensuring a coordinated response in case of high demand for medical oxygen.

Dr. Varsha Kotwal highlighted the importance of such drills, stating, "Ensuring a seamless oxygen supply is crucial for patient care, especially in emergencies. This exercise helps identify potential bottlenecks and reinforces our commitment to public health and safety."

This proactive measure underscores the healthcare department's dedication to preparedness and aligns with the government’s vision of robust healthcare delivery. The mock drill was well-received by hospital staff and officials, who praised its effectiveness in enhancing operational efficiency and response capabilities.

The initiative serves as a model for other healthcare institutions to prioritize emergency preparedness and underscores the importance of collective efforts in safeguarding public health.
