Akhnoor: Minister Javed Ahmed Rana conducted an extensive review of the functioning of the Jal Shakti and Forest Departments during his visit to Akhnoor. The visit focused on assessing ongoing projects and addressing key developmental challenges in the region.

While inspecting various initiatives under the Jal Shakti Department, the minister directed officials to expedite the completion of Water Supply Schemes under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Highlighting the importance of clean and safe drinking water for the public, he emphasized the need for timely execution of irrigation and flood control projects to mitigate risks and enhance agricultural productivity.

Addressing environmental concerns, Minister Rana instructed the Forest Department to prioritize soil conservation measures along the nallahs (seasonal water streams) and accelerate afforestation efforts in the Kalidhar Range. He urged officials to target barren patches for plantation drives, aiming to restore ecological balance and improve the green cover in the region.

The review meeting was attended by Minister Satish Sharma and MLA Mohan Lal, who extended their support to the proposed measures and ensured cooperation in resolving issues faced by the departments. Both leaders stressed the importance of collective efforts in achieving sustainable development in Akhnoor and its surrounding areas.

Minister Rana expressed his commitment to ensuring that all developmental initiatives in the region are implemented efficiently and benefit the local population. He also encouraged officials to maintain transparency and involve the community in project implementation for better outcomes.

The visit concluded with assurances from the respective departments to adhere to the directives and complete the pending projects within the stipulated timelines.
