Jammu, January 15: The Minister for Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, inaugurated a two-day Gojri Literary and Cultural Programme organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages (JKAACL). The event, held at the Academy's premises, aims to celebrate and preserve the rich cultural heritage of the Gujjar-Bakerwal community in the Union Territory.

In his inaugural address, the Minister commended JKAACL for its relentless efforts in showcasing and preserving the cultural and linguistic diversity of Jammu and Kashmir. He praised the Academy for its significant role in promoting Gojri, the language of the Gujjar-Bakerwal community, and other indigenous languages of the region.

"The Gojri language is an integral part of our collective cultural identity, and it is imperative to preserve and propagate it for future generations. JKAACL has been playing a commendable role in ensuring that the linguistic and cultural legacy of the Gujjar-Bakerwal community remains alive," said Rana.

The Minister called upon the conscience keepers, scholars, and cultural enthusiasts of the Gujjar heritage to take proactive steps in promoting the Gojri language and culture. He emphasized the importance of community participation in preserving their traditions and heritage.

The event features a series of literary discussions, cultural performances, and exhibitions, highlighting the vibrant traditions of the Gujjar-Bakerwal community. Artists, writers, and scholars from across the Union Territory have gathered to participate in this initiative aimed at fostering cultural exchange and awareness.

Director of JKAACL, while addressing the gathering, reiterated the Academy's commitment to nurturing the cultural ethos of Jammu and Kashmir. "Our mission is to promote unity through diversity and ensure the protection of all regional languages and traditions," he said.
