Massive Fire Ravages Bahudin Sahib, Nowhatta: JKNC Leader Salman Ali Sagar Visits Victims

Srinagar, January 7 – In a tragic incident, a massive fire broke out at Bahudin Sahib in Nowhatta (Khanyar), Srinagar, devastating nearly five residential structures and three commercial establishments. The fire has left eight families homeless and caused substantial damage to local businesses.

Salman Ali Sagar, MLA Hazratbal and senior leader of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), promptly visited the affected area to assess the situation and extend his support to the victims. During his visit, he interacted with the displaced families and assured them of his party’s unwavering commitment to helping them rebuild their lives.

Sagar urged the district administration to ensure swift compensation for the victims and provide immediate relief to those who have lost their homes and livelihoods. He stressed the importance of prompt action to mitigate the suffering of the affected families, emphasizing the need for government agencies to coordinate relief efforts effectively.

The MLA was accompanied by several key figures, including MLA Khanyar Haji Ali Mohammad Sagar, who pledged all possible support for the victims. Khanyar Coordinator Abid Wani, Vice President of Women’s Wing Kashmir Rukhsana, and other local functionaries of the JKNC also accompanied the leader during the visit.

Speaking to the media, Salman Ali Sagar expressed his deep concern over the recurrent fire incidents in Srinagar and called for better infrastructure and preparedness to handle such emergencies. He also highlighted the need for a comprehensive fire safety plan for densely populated areas like Nowhatta.

The fire victims, who have lost their homes and livelihoods, appealed to the administration for immediate assistance, including temporary shelters, food supplies, and financial aid for reconstruction.

The JKNC has pledged to continue supporting the victims and monitor the relief efforts closely to ensure that the affected families receive the help they need in this time of crisis.
