Maha Kumbh 2025: UP CM Yogi Adityanath Takes Holy Dip in Sangam with Cabinet Ministers
Prayagraj, January 22, 2025: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, accompanied by his cabinet ministers, took a holy dip at the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers at Prayagraj on the auspicious occasion of the Maha Kumbh 2025. The grand religious event, renowned as one of the largest spiritual gatherings in the world, is witnessing a massive influx of devotees, saints, and spiritual leaders from across the globe.

The Chief Minister arrived in Prayagraj early this morning and was welcomed by a sea of devotees who had gathered to witness the sacred ritual. The CM, clad in traditional saffron attire, performed the customary puja at the Sangam under the guidance of learned priests and Vedic scholars before stepping into the holy waters. Cabinet ministers, including Deputy CMs Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, and other senior officials, accompanied him in this spiritual endeavor.

Speaking to the media after the ritual, CM Yogi Adityanath said, "The Maha Kumbh is a symbol of India’s cultural and spiritual heritage. It is an occasion to reaffirm our faith, seek divine blessings, and promote the message of peace, unity, and harmony to the world."

The state government has left no stone unturned in ensuring a smooth and safe experience for pilgrims. Elaborate security arrangements, including thousands of police personnel, drones, and CCTV surveillance, have been deployed to manage the enormous crowds. Medical facilities, clean drinking water, and temporary shelters have been set up at the Mela site.

Special emphasis has been laid on cleanliness under the Swachh Bharat Mission, with over 20,000 sanitation workers maintaining hygiene across the sprawling grounds. The government has also introduced AI-based crowd management systems to monitor the movement of devotees and prevent overcrowding at the ghats.

The Maha Kumbh 2025, which began on January 14 with Makar Sankranti, will continue until March 4, concluding on Mahashivratri. It is expected to attract over 20 crore devotees during its 49-day duration. The event not only celebrates spiritual awakening but also showcases India's rich cultural diversity through various exhibitions, performances, and discussions.

Prominent saints from Akharas, religious organizations, and global leaders in spirituality have lauded the arrangements made by the Yogi Adityanath government, calling it one of the most well-organized Maha Kumbhs in history. The CM also emphasized the significance of the Maha Kumbh in promoting religious tourism, boosting local economies, and preserving ancient traditions for future generations.

As the chanting of mantras and the sound of conch shells filled the air, the holy dip by Yogi Adityanath and his cabinet became a defining moment of this year's Maha Kumbh, inspiring millions of devotees to immerse themselves in the sanctity of the Sangam.
