Kulgam Police Arrests Four Gamblers; ₹80,000 Stake Money Seized
Kulgam: In a significant action against unlawful activities, the Kulgam Police apprehended four individuals engaged in gambling in the Yaripora area. The police also seized stake money amounting to ₹80,000 and playing cards from their possession during the raid.

The arrested individuals have been identified as:

1. Haroon Rashid, son of Abdul Rashid Malik, resident of Yaripora.


2. Liyaqat Hussain, son of Mohd Hussain Malik, resident of Yaripora.


3. Saqib Ahmad Mochi, son of Reyaz Ahmad Mochi, resident of Yaripora.


4. Jehangir Ahmad Dar, son of Mohd Ahsan Dar, resident of Kujjar, Frisal.



Acting on credible information regarding illegal gambling activities, the police conducted a swift operation and apprehended the individuals at the scene. The recovery included ₹80,000 in cash used as stake money and a set of playing cards, which were being used for gambling.

A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to uncover any larger networks involved in such activities. The police have reiterated their commitment to curbing illegal activities and maintaining law and order in the region.
