Expresses concern over delay in statehood,business rules raise issue of age relaxation,fast track recruitments, Katra ropeway
Jammu, Jan 8- A high level delegation of Congress today met the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan today evening and discussed the wide range of the issues of public especially youth.
Led by Working President Shri Raman Bhalla, Ravinder Sharma, Yogesh Sawhney, Ved Mahajan and Rakesh Wazir, the delegation apprised the Lt Governor about various burning issues of the people of Jammu region and highlighted the delay in the fulfillment of the commitment for restoration of statehood beside delay in framing of the business rules leading to uncertainty in the administration as a result people suffer.
The delegation also raised the demand for age relaxation to the overage youth in police & other jobs,besides fast tracking of recruitment process to fill all vacancies , keeping in view the unrest amongst educated youth.
The meeting also highlighted the Katra ropeway issue and demanded the issue be resolved through dialogue with all stakeholders taking into consideration aspect of religious faith, economic interests, livelihood issue of thousands and developmental aspects. They also raised the mishandling of the issue by local administration & police, however later the higher intervention defused the situation.
The delegation also raised demand for the proper developmental facilities at Bhair Dev sthan in Jammu.
Later briefing media outside Raj Bhawan Mr Raman Bhalla and Mr Ravinder Sharma said that meeting took place in the light of urgent appointment sought by party in the wake of Katra situation, last week to seek LG's intervention,although he was out of Jammu. Today the delegation raised all the burning issues faced by the people The LG listened to the delegation patiently and discussed the issues at length, they added.
