Udhampur, January 21, 2025: In a significant move to combat criminal activities in Udhampur district, the District Police has taken stringent action against a habitual bovine smuggler by detaining him under the Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act (PSA). The detention was carried out following orders issued by the District Magistrate of Udhampur.
The accused, identified as Hafeez Mohd., son of Shareef Mohd., a resident of Dubigali, Panchari in Udhampur, has been a recurring offender in bovine smuggling cases. He has been booked in multiple cases registered in the district and has gained notoriety for his involvement in such unlawful activities.
According to the police, Hafeez Mohd. posed a serious threat to the peace and tranquility of the district, necessitating his detention under the PSA to prevent further disturbances.
