Doda Police Organizes Training Programme on eSakshya and eSummons to Enhance Professional Skills of Officers and Officials
Doda, January 11, 2025: In a significant move towards enhancing the professional skills of its officers and officials, the Doda Police conducted a one-day training programme on the eSakshya mobile application for investigating officers (IOs) at District Police Lines, Doda. This initiative aligns with the department's commitment to integrating technology into criminal investigations for more efficient and effective law enforcement.

The training session was organized under the guidance of SSP Doda, Sh. Sandeep Mehta (JKPS), who inaugurated the event. Addressing the participants, SSP Mehta emphasized the importance of adopting digital tools to improve investigative capabilities and ensure the seamless collection, management, and presentation of evidence.

Highlights of the Training Session:

1. Live Demonstration:
The IT Section team from the District Police Office (DPO) provided a live demonstration of the eSakshya mobile application, showcasing its features and capabilities.


2. Hands-On Experience:
Participants were given practical training to familiarize themselves with the app's functionalities, such as recording crime scenes, documenting searches and seizures, and uploading evidence to a cloud-based platform.


3. Purpose of eSakshya:
The eSakshya mobile app, developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), is designed to assist police officers in digitally recording and managing evidence during criminal investigations. Key features include:

Recording crime scenes.

Documenting statements of victims and witnesses.

Storing and managing digital evidence on a secure platform.

Enhancing transparency and accountability in investigations.



4. Digital Transformation in Policing:
This training marks a step towards the digital transformation of the criminal justice system, enabling officers to leverage technology for evidence collection, analysis, and prosecution.

SSP Sandeep Mehta encouraged all IOs to enhance their digital literacy and adapt to modern investigative practices. He stressed that integrating advanced tools like eSakshya would streamline investigation processes and ultimately contribute to a safer society.
