Doda, January 22, 2025: In a significant event aimed at promoting gender equality and women empowerment, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda, Sh. Harvinder Singh, flagged off a vibrant cycle rally on Monday. The rally was organized to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, local youth, and representatives from various organizations. The cycle rally started from the District Headquarters and covered key locations in the town, spreading the message of gender equality and the importance of empowering women and girls in society.
Addressing the participants before the flag-off, DC Doda emphasized the need for collective efforts to eliminate gender bias and ensure equal opportunities for women in every sphere of life. He highlighted the remarkable progress achieved under the BBBP initiative in the district over the last decade, including increased female enrollment in schools, reduced gender disparities, and heightened awareness about women’s rights.

The cycle rally concluded at the Government Higher Secondary School, where prizes and certificates of appreciation were distributed to the participants. The event received widespread applause from the residents of Doda, who lauded the administration’s efforts to promote such noble initiatives.
