Kishtwar, 16-01-2025: In order to gear up the progress of the JJM Scheme in the district, DC Kishtwar Sh. Rajesh Kumar Shavan, JKAS, and MD JJM Sh. Khurshid Ahmed Shah held a detailed review.
During the review, the Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Kishtwar apprised the chair of the progress in implementing JJM. A detailed presentation was provided regarding ongoing schemes. It was informed during the meeting that 39 schemes out of 129 have been completed in the district to date.
The MD JJM Sh. Khurshid Ahmed Shah set a target to achieve 100% completion of the pipeline network by February 2025. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of completing all pending schemes and achieving 100% "Har Ghar Jal" certification for covered villages.
The Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Sh Rajesh Kumar Shavan, JKAS,directed the AEEs and JEs to ensure quality work for public benefit. He also stressed that the concerned JJM authorities would bear sole responsibility for forest fire damages to Pipeline and any resulting liabilities on the concerned JE.
Furthermore, he instructed officials to resolve any land issues in collaboration with the District Administration to avoid delays in project implementation.
Key directives were issued to accelerate the completion of all works. The chair urged all stakeholders to work on a war footing to achieve the set targets and ensure the seamless implementation of JJM in District Kishtwar.
The DC asked the engineers to adhere to the quality of works especially embedding of rubber pipes in the jungle to avoid any future damage due to forest fires.
The review meeting was attended by Superintending Engineer Mechanical, Bodh Raj Bhagat; Consultant JJM Salim Malik; DFO Kishtwar; Executive Engineer Jal Shakti, Sunil Sharma; AEEs; JEs; and Third-Party Inspection (TPI) agencies involved in civil and mechanical works.
