Jammu, January 18, 2024: In a decisive move to combat illegal mining and curb exploitation of public resources, the Jammu Police launched a comprehensive operation in the South Zone of District Jammu, seizing 12 vehicles involved in unlawful activities. The drive, aimed at tightening the noose around violators, showcases the department's commitment to safeguarding public property and ensuring compliance with the law.
Under the leadership of Inspector Jai Paul Singh, the Satwari Police Station spearheaded the operation by detaining eight dumpers loaded with sand, which were found to be operating without proper authorization. Similarly, the Police Post Belicharana, led by PSI Rajesh Singh, seized two more dumpers engaged in similar illegal activities. In parallel operations, the Police Posts in Nehru Market and Greater Kailash each intercepted a truck laden with sand and bajri, also lacking valid documentation.
In total, the Jammu Police seized 10 vehicles under the jurisdiction of the Satwari Police Station, and one vehicle each in the jurisdictions of the Gandhinagar and Gangyal Police Stations, respectively. The seized vehicles were promptly reported to the District Mining Officer, who has been apprised of the situation for further legal proceedings.
