January 8, 2025 – The Mission Director of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), Mr. Khursheed Ahmad Shah, along with the District Development Commissioner of Samba, Mr. Rajesh Sharma, conducted an extensive review of the ongoing progress under the Jal Jeevan Mission in District Samba. The review aimed to assess the current status of the mission and strategize for future developments.
Key Highlights of the Review:
Successful Completion of 81 Schemes: A significant milestone was achieved with the completion of 81 schemes under the mission, providing safe and clean drinking water to a large number of households across the district. This achievement underscores the commitment to improving water access for residents.
Additional 49 Schemes Planned: Looking ahead, Mr. Shah and Mr. Sharma outlined plans for the completion of an additional 49 water supply schemes by March 2025. These schemes will further extend the reach of clean water to even more households, ensuring broader coverage of the "Har Ghar Jal" initiative.

The Mission Director stressed the urgency of achieving 100% certification under the "Har Ghar Jal" initiative, which aims to provide safe drinking water to every household in the district. Expedited Tubewell Drilling and Machinery Installations: A major directive was given to speed up the drilling of tubewells and the installation of necessary machinery to ensure adequate water supply in all regions.
Completion of Infrastructure Projects: The completion of critical infrastructure, including Overhead Tanks (OHTs), pump rooms, and pipe-laying projects, was highlighted as a priority to guarantee effective water distribution.
