Udhampur, January 24: In preparation for the grand celebration of Republic Day 2025, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Udhampur, Rajinder Singh, unfurled the National Flag at the Government Degree College (Boys) Udhampur. The occasion marked the Full Dress Rehearsal for the Republic Day celebrations in the district.
During the event, the ADDC inspected the parade and took the salute from the March Past contingents, showcasing the readiness and discipline of the participants for the upcoming national event. The March Past included contingents from various wings such as Jammu and Kashmir Police, Home Guards, NCC cadets, and students from local schools and colleges.
The rehearsal began with the ceremonial flag hoisting, followed by a well-coordinated parade that highlighted patriotism and dedication. The contingents demonstrated precision and enthusiasm, reflecting the spirit of the Republic Day celebrations.
A cultural program was also presented during the rehearsal, featuring performances by students that depicted the rich heritage and diversity of India. Patriotic songs and traditional dances added to the fervor of the occasion.
While addressing the gathering, ADDC Rajinder Singh commended the efforts of all participants and the organizing team for their hard work and dedication. He emphasized the importance of Republic Day as a moment to celebrate India's democratic values and unity in diversity. He urged everyone to actively participate in the main event on January 26, 2025, to pay homage to the nation's freedom fighters and to reaffirm their commitment to national development.
The event witnessed the presence of senior district officials, police officers, school and college staff, and students. Security arrangements were thoroughly reviewed to ensure a smooth and safe celebration on Republic Day.
