76th Republic Day Full Dress Rehearsal Held at Chowgan Ground, Kishtwar

The district of Kishtwar witnessed a grand and meticulously planned full dress rehearsal for the 76th Republic Day celebrations at the historic Chowgan Ground. This rehearsal served as a prelude to the upcoming national event, showcasing the fervor and patriotic spirit of the participants and the citizens.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Kishtwar, Sh. Pawan Kotwal, JKAS, unfurled the national flag and took the salute during the impressive march past. The parade comprised contingents from various forces and organizations, including the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Jammu and Kashmir Police, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indian Reserve Police (IRP), the Senior Division of NCC from Government Degree College (GDC) Kishtwar, Forest Protection Force, Homeguard, and a vibrant group of schoolchildren. The march past was led by Parade Commander Dy. SP Sumit Kumar.
Adding a splash of color and cultural vibrancy, schoolchildren and local artists performed a variety of theme-based cultural programs that resonated with the spirit of patriotism. Their performances captivated the audience and set the tone for the Republic Day celebrations.

During his address, ADC Pawan Kotwal reflected on the principles enshrined in the Indian Constitution, emphasizing integrity, sovereignty, fraternity, and the right to vote. He reminded the gathering of the strength and unity that have shaped India into the world’s largest democracy.

The ADC also highlighted various citizen-centric welfare schemes and their impact on the lives of the people in the Union Territory, particularly in Kishtwar. Key initiatives such as the Holistic Agricultural Development Programme, Ayushman Bharat, and the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) were acknowledged for their significant contributions to the welfare and upliftment of the common people.

Moreover, the ADC lauded the progress made by the district and commended the youth of Kishtwar for their outstanding achievements in education, sports, and other fields.

As part of the event, the Swachh Bharat Pledge and a pledge related to the ongoing Road Safety Week were also administered to promote cleanliness and road safety awareness among the attendees.

The rehearsal event was graced by the presence of several dignitaries, including ASP Kishtwar Pawan Sharma, PO ICDS Rishi Kumar Sharma, CPO Kishtwar Shahnawaz Bali, ACR Kishtwar Idrees Lone, SDM Paddar Amit Kumar, DSWO Zubair Ahmed, DIO Dr. Kuldeep Kumar, EO Municipality Kishtwar Mirza Mumtaz Iqbal, ARTO Kishtwar, Dy. SP DAR Sajjad Khan, DYSSO Kishtwar, along with officers and staff from various departments, civil and police administration officials, and local citizens.

With strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), the event reflected the collective efforts and preparations to make the Republic Day celebrations a memorable occasion for all.
