Kathua, January 24: The full dress rehearsal for the 76th Republic Day celebrations was conducted at the District Sports Stadium in Kathua, amidst tight security arrangements. The event was marked by patriotic fervor and meticulous planning, showcasing the enthusiasm of participants and organizers alike.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Sh. Surinder Mohan, accompanied by Additional Superintendent of Police Kathua, Sh. Rahul Charak (JKPS), hoisted the National Flag and inspected the parade. They also took the salute from the marching contingents, which displayed exceptional discipline and synchronization.
The parade was commanded by SDPO Border, Sh. Dheeraj Singh Katoch (JKPS), while PSI Rajat Kotwal served as the Second Parade Commander. The contingents participating in the parade included units from the District Police Line Kathua (DPL), IRP 19th Battalion, Police Training School (PTS) Kathua, CRPF, Forest Protection Force, Home Guards, and various school and college NCC cadets.
A variety of schools from Kathua also participated in the parade, adding a vibrant and youthful spirit to the occasion. These included:

Boys High School Kathua, Little Angels Higher Secondary School, Nav Adarsh Higher Secondary School, Spring Dales Higher Secondary School, RSJN Senior Secondary School, Indian Public School Kalibari, Tiny Scholar School, Mount Litera Zee School, Cosmic Heart Public School, Jammu Sanskriti School, Bhartiya Public School, Learning Temple Higher Secondary School, Sacred Heart School, Minerva Public Higher School, and government institutions like Govt. High School Parliwand Kathua, Govt. Middle School Kalibari, and Govt. Middle School Kathua.
The rehearsal was graced by the presence of senior officials, including DySP Hqrs Sh. Manjeet Singh, DySP DAR Kathua Sh. Subash Chander, and other gazetted and non-gazetted officers from the police and civil administration.
