Affected Devices:

WhatsApp will no longer work on smartphones running Android KitKat (Android 4.4) or older versions. Major affected models include:

Samsung: Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy Ace 3, Galaxy S4 Mini

Motorola: Moto G (First Generation), Motorola Razr HD, Moto E 2014

HTC: One X, One X+, Desire 500, Desire 601

LG: Optimus G, Nexus 4, G2 Mini, L90

Sony: Xperia Z, Xperia SP, Xperia T, Xperia V


If your smartphone is listed above, you will need to upgrade your device to continue using WhatsApp.

How to Backup Your Data:

To secure your important chats and data, follow these steps:

1. Open WhatsApp and go to "Settings."


2. Tap on "Chats."


3. Select "Chat Backup."


4. Tap the "Backup" button to save your chats to Google Drive or local storage.



Once you install WhatsApp on a new device, log in with the same Google account and restore the backup.
