Srinagar: In a significant step toward curbing drug-related activities, Srinagar Police successfully apprehended two alleged drug peddlers during a routine check on Babdam Road, Srinagar. The operation was carried out after receiving credible intelligence inputs about suspicious activities in the area.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Ilyas Ahmad Dar, a resident of Dar Mohallah, Old Barzulla, Sanat Nagar, and Manzoor Ahmad Dar, a resident of Tengpora, Srinagar. According to police reports, the duo was found in possession of a substantial quantity of narcotic substances, which were seized on the spot.
The police team, led by senior officers, intercepted the suspects during a late-night patrol. Upon searching their belongings, they recovered illicit drugs, indicating their involvement in drug trafficking operations. The seized contraband has been sent for forensic analysis.
Both accused have been booked under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and are currently in police custody. The authorities have initiated a thorough investigation to uncover their supply chain and connections to larger drug networks.
