MLA Inderwal Sh. Payare Lal Sharma Meets Hon'ble Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Secretary RDD to Push Key Developmental Agendas
Kishtwar, December 13: In a significant move to expedite developmental projects in his constituency, MLA Inderwal, Sh. Payare Lal Sharma, met Hon’ble Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to discuss various pressing issues. The discussions revolved around crucial infrastructure development, including the long-pending Singapora-Vailoo Tunnel project, which has been facing delays in the tendering process. Sh. Sharma urged the Chief Minister to prioritize this project, emphasizing its potential to boost connectivity and economic development in the region.

The MLA also advocated for the preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for two other vital tunnel projects: the Bhunda-Chingam Tunnel and the Daradpora Anantnag to Choidraman Warwan Tunnel. He stressed that these projects would significantly improve connectivity and enhance socio-economic opportunities for the remote and underdeveloped regions of his constituency.

Another key issue raised by Sh. Sharma was the enhancement of the Below Poverty Line (BPL) quota for the region. Highlighting the growing population and the increasing number of families living in poverty, he requested a review and expansion of the BPL quota to accommodate the needs of the people.

In a separate meeting with the Secretary to Government, Rural Development Department (RDD), Sh. Sharma brought attention to challenges faced by rural beneficiaries in registering for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY - AWAS+). He demanded that the “Chulla Registration Parchi” (a traditional registration document used in rural areas) be recognized as valid proof for PMAY (AWAS+) registration.

The Secretary assured him that a committee would be constituted within a week to review the issue and make necessary recommendations. This assurance has raised hopes among rural families who face bureaucratic hurdles in accessing government housing schemes.

Sh. Payare Lal Sharma expressed optimism after the meetings, stating, "Both the Chief Minister and the Secretary RDD have assured their support. These developmental initiatives and policy adjustments are crucial for the progress and welfare of my constituency."

The meetings highlight Sh. Sharma’s commitment to addressing the developmental challenges in Inderwal and improving the quality of life for its residents. Local stakeholders and residents have welcomed these initiatives, hoping for swift action on the issues raised.
