JK Government Teachers Forum and Lecturer Forum Meets Education Minister to Address Teaching Community’s Issues
Jammu, Dec 2: A delegation from the JK Lecturer Forum and Government Teachers Forum met with the Education Minister today under the leadership of their president, Mr. Vijay Kumar, to discuss pressing issues affecting the teaching community. The meeting aimed to highlight the challenges faced by educators across the Union Territory and seek immediate resolutions to their grievances.

During the discussion, Mr. Vijay Kumar presented a detailed memorandum outlining the primary concerns of the teaching fraternity. Key issues raised included delays in promotions, lack of timely adjustments and postings, implementation of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), regularization of services for contractual teachers, and resolution of salary-related discrepancies.

Mr. Kumar emphasized that these issues have been long-standing and have adversely impacted the morale and efficiency of teachers. He urged the minister to take swift action to resolve these challenges to ensure the smooth functioning of the education system and the well-being of the teaching community.

The Education Minister expressed his understanding of the concerns and assured the delegation that these matters would be addressed on a priority basis. He promised to initiate necessary steps to resolve the issues within a few weeks and encouraged the forum to maintain open communication with the department.

Following the meeting, Mr. Vijay Kumar expressed optimism, stating, “We are hopeful that the government will fulfill its commitments and take concrete measures to address our concerns. The teaching community plays a crucial role in shaping the future of our society, and it is essential to ensure their grievances are resolved without further delay.”

The meeting has brought a renewed sense of hope among teachers, who are now eagerly awaiting the government’s response to their demands.
