Kathua, December 4: Honourable Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Surinder Kumar Choudhary, conducted a comprehensive inspection of various industrial estates in Kathua district today. The visit aimed to assess the operational efficiency of the industries, ensure adherence to environmental norms, and emphasize the importance of employing local skilled youth in the region.
During his inspection, the Deputy CM interacted with industrialists, workers, and representatives from various industrial units. He urged industries to actively contribute to the socio-economic development of Kathua by providing meaningful employment opportunities to local youth. Highlighting the abundance of skilled manpower in the region, he encouraged industries to prioritize local talent over external recruitment, ensuring an inclusive growth model that benefits the local population.
Shri Choudhary also stressed the need for industries to maintain ecological balance by adhering strictly to environmental guidelines and sustainable practices. “Development and environmental sustainability must go hand in hand,” he said, emphasizing that industries must take measures to minimize their environmental impact.
The Deputy CM also reviewed ongoing projects and assured industrialists of the government's support in addressing their challenges, including infrastructure development, streamlined approvals, and incentives for expanding operations. He reiterated the government's commitment to fostering an investor-friendly environment in Jammu and Kashmir, making the region a hub for industrial growth.
Local stakeholders welcomed the Deputy CM’s proactive approach, expressing optimism about his assurances and the focus on local employment. Speaking on behalf of the local youth, a community leader said, “This initiative will not only reduce unemployment but also ensure a brighter future for our skilled workforce.”
